free with this weeks Doctor Who Adventures magazine (comic) are 5 new style Daleks... in horrible orange plastic... right... they are a bit crappy looking, but that's because they look exactly like the iDalek and that looks crap... there are 5... but of the 5 I had, only 1 had the two halves aligned correctly, and it's taken me 20 minutes to pop the other 4 apart so I can try and glue them straight... they are big, obviously... but eyeline wise match the Heresy Nerdlord...
and the MU old new style Dalek - which I still prefer...
Yep. I hate the new Daleks. They should be... exterminated.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, my thoughts on the story here, but I envy your access to these little horrors (hard to find here in NZ), especially given their ideal scale. Bummer about the fix-up necessary, but I'm looking forward to seeing you work your magic on them!

What is the issue number that they come with?

You prompted me to get some of these new Daleks. As with everyone else it seems I dislike them as well, but heyho - the pressures of staying up-to-date. The new sculpts do seem in scaled with each other though.

ReplyDeleteIf I may ask a tangental question? How do the Micro Universe daleks compare scale wise to the old Citadel/FASA ones?
Plus, how do they both compare to the BTD Daleks as well? (Would like to finally get round to painting up the FASA Daleks I got hold of on eBay last year, and was wondering about maybe commiting a few purchases of MU figs as well!)

MU and BTD Dalek in that pic... haven't got any of the Citadel ones anymore, but did have some parts from the plastic boxset and they are small compared to the MU and BTD, which may not bother you, but it does me... no pics though...
