Angel Blake...

another one for my vague Folk Horror project...

Angel Blake from Blood on Satan's Claw

one of the sub-boob shadows looks a bit heavy handed there, so that'll get touched up... but quite happy with the skin tones

not very happy with the crown of thorns (or hawthorn or whatever it is... any botanists in?), it was never going to be as fragile as in the film... (actually, is it mistletoe?)

but what looked ok when I was working on it (it's actually some 28mm scale barbwire), not so much now... has lost it's pronginess and pale grey wood I'd intended didn't really stand out very much against the pale hair and pale skin... am half considering some leaves to make it a bit more bramble-ish... not sure...

and got a bit more adventurous with my basing and added some purple heatherish touches...

UPDATE - new prongs here

Va-va-voom! Reminds me of Britt Eckland out of the original Wicker Man.

Excellent coloration, subtle but deftly delineating the form.

Really like the skintones, though i admit I never even heard of Blood on Stan`s Claw... seems like a very obscure movie.

it was released in the US as Satan's Skin, but it's a real classic, up there with Wicker Man. Well worth a search for it.

Looks like Hawthorn to me (the size of the flowers in comparison with the small leaves...) Very nice skin tones, too.
Now I must watch that film...

Cheers!

Angel would be ideal to use in a game of Witchfinder General: Days of Revelation when a Witch has cast the Distraction self protection spell. Excellent painting. I like the Witchfinder and the devout trooper too.

well as the rules aren't out yet I assume you're involved... come on, give some hints...
