And double duty for Angel’s demon

Not much more to say, in the interest of budget, going to use my Blood On Satans Claw demon for the demon in Silver Bayonet until I get a new job and find something as suitable.

A rescue werewolf

So, when I started this Silver Bayonet project, I severely miscalculated how many figures of some types I’d need (see Troll for the hilarity of that). Anyway, when I ordered the three werewolves I wanted, I was sent some misprints and poorly cured figures. These were replaced by the Etsy seller, but sat in a ziplock waiting for I didn’t know what. It turns out of course I needed four werewolves, but rather than order a fourth, I dug out the dodgy prints, picked a decent top and bottom and got cutting and gluing. Some greenstuff britches hide the join, although his tail is a bit manky, but he’ll do for the rare occasion that all four are needed.

A living scarecrow

A living scarecrow for the Silver Bayonet, Mr Mangle from Crooked Dice. Both much to say really, I wanted a sackcloth look to bulk of it, and think I’ve managed to differentiate the straw stuffing just enough. I did the tied knot at the leg as a red ribbon just to add a bit of colour.

Troll!

So I originally liked this model for my hobgoblins, as shown in earlier posts. But only ordered one before I realised I needed two. Ordering his twin led to some errors on my part and these were left to sit in the lead pile, which is more plastic and resin these days.

Anyhoo… as I’m trying to get my Silver Bayonet bestiary filled out, these larger versions have been shifted up to get some paint to see action as trolls. The club on the second one didn’t look right at that scale, so I converted it to an uprooted tree that works well at that scale with my actual scenery trees.

Mistakes were made in the ordering…

Silver Bayonet vampire…

And the vampire hussar Madame La Nuit from Black Pyramid Gaming (who also do lots of useful Napoleonic horror characters). Not a very colourful figure as I went with the uniform for the Deaths Head Hussars, but a fun figure if you can handle the braid and lace.

Silver Bayonet ghoul

A 3D print from Etsy, it’s sold as a vampire and I was going to use it as such, but realised the feral nature of the mini lent itself more to the ghoul. The broken plinth is from the Renedra graveyard sprue and just gave it a bit of height.

And some adversaries…

And a couple of Goatkin from Crooked Dice. Despite earlier plans I think these may end up doing duty as hobgoblins for the Silver Bayonet.

must be a blue moon…

… as apparently I painted something!

OK, I did these back in June I think but didn’t add the grass and tufts until this weekend gone. It’s been quiet over the summer though, job is knackering me and free time is limited. The heat didn’t help. But I did eke some stuff out, including some bark rocks and these fellas… werewolves and a changeling for The Silver Bayonet.

3D prints from Etsy, lovely minis. They’re about the height of a Perry human so not too massive, although I’ve based them on 30mm bases.

The changeling is also a 3D print from Etsy, some kind of Wood Elf creature I think. I absolutely love it and figured it could pass as a changeling as described in the rules, with a more natural magic feel to it. Slender but perfect for a 25mm base.

Hobgoblin and Pixie for the Silver Bayonet

More creatures for the Silver Bayonet.

In TSB, hobgoblins are humans warped and corrupted by the fairy world. This fella was a joy to paint. A 3D printed Hill Giant, in a small scale, so not so giant. Turns out I need two, so will need to get another one.

Base still to do as I wait for decent spraying weather.

And a 10mm Wood Elf Sorceress for my Pixie. Another 3D print from Etsy.  I removed the excessive flower/nature spell effect though. Amazing detail on something so small.

Size comparison…

Various Silver Bayonet WIP

The supernatural investigator is converted from the Perry Royal Navy Landing Party (getting good use out of those). The Navy rosette was removed from his top hat and with his tasseled military boots cut back and turned into riding boots with greenstuff, with the right paint again, he’s something of a dandy adventurer.

The final clue marker is almost done, still quite pleased with these.

And a Living Armour, an animated  suit of armour as per the random encounter table. It’s a Perry War of the Roses knight with his face carved out. Still some work to do on that one.

And goblins WIP, in this case Reaper Gremlins that I think fit the job quite nicely. I want my fairy foes to be quite slight, and they are bloody tiny.
